You can find several great party themes for boys ages 5-7. A favorite cartoon character like the Transformers for example. On the party invitations, say something like "Optimus Prime and the Autobots need your help in defending the Earth against the Deceptacons". Decorate for the party with red, white, blue and silver. Have balloons in the party colors and silver streamers hanging from the ceiling. Set the tone by putting poster5s of the transformers on the wall. You can use Transformers party supplies or plates, cups and napkins in the party colors. Let the kids watch a DVD of one of the Transformers' movies and serve hotdogs and hamburgers. Have fruit juice for drinks and cupcakes with silver sprinkles on them. As party favors give the kids silver gift bags with coloring pages, crayons, and stickers.
Ages 5-7 would also like to have a western themed party. Send out party invitations that are shaped like a cowboy hat. Say something like "Howdy Partner, You are invited to a roundup at -----". Have a big banner that says "Howdy Partner" on it. Have balloons in black, white, and red. Hang silver streamers from the ceiling. As children arrive, give them a cowboy hat that then becomes a party favor. Tie bandanas around the kids' necks. .Decorate the walls with ropes tied into lassos and posters of cowboys, horses, cactus etc… Make signs that read "General Store", "Blacksmith"," Sherriff's Office"' and other old west places. After they are transformed into cowboys they can start the party games. Pin the tail on the Donkey is perfect for a western party and so are horseshoes. You can take the kids outside and let them toss horseshoes or you can use lightweight plastic horseshoes and let the kids toss them in the house, into a cowboy hat or a rope tied into a small circle.
Kids love to explore, so try an Explorer party for a boy's party theme idea for ages 5-7. The first thing you have to decide is what the kids are going to explore, like leaves, insects, treasures, etc. If you choose, the leaves or insects have books they can find the type of specimen they have. Remember the books should be age appropriate, with color pictures and a little info. For the treasure write clues that will move the kids around the party area. You might want to divide the group into two or three smaller groups. Give party favors to all the groups when they find the treasure and special party favors to the first to find it. After all that searching the kids will be hungry, so have sandwiches or hotdogs and hamburgers ready to go.
