Wedding planning can be a stressful process in the lives of a soon to be married couple. It is important to tackle one aspect of the wedding at a time. Some of the more complicated aspects of the wedding are the location, wedding decorations, wedding dress, caterers, and florists. It is best to get the little stuff out of the way so enough time is dedicated to other aspects of the wedding. And overall, the wedding budget will determine how much money can be spent on the wedding as a whole.

Wedding invitations should be sent out five to six months before the big event. Select invitations that reflect the theme of the wedding. Wedding themes include seasonal weddings, holiday weddings, tropical weddings, Victorian wedding, western wedding, fairytale wedding, Mardi Gras, and garden weddings. Based off the type of theme selected, choose invitations that reflect that. Themed wedding invitations will allow guests to prepare for the themed wedding. Suggest on the wedding invitations if guests should wear a certain color or type of dress or suit.

Selecting themed wedding favors is another factor to consider in the early stages of themed wedding planning. For example, if a garden theme is selected choose wedding party favors such as paper parasols, miniature garden pales, flower pens, butterfly cookie cutters, and mini wooden birdhouses. In keeping with the spirit of the garden themed wedding, use recyclable wedding favor bags.

Wedding favors do not have to be nice objects that just look pretty but can also be practical as well. Salt and pepper shakers, lip balm, glass coasters, bottle openers, luggage tags, magnets, and glass jars are all viable and practical wedding favor options.

Some of the best wedding favors are edible ones. Edible wedding favors include fortune cookies, chocolate candies, jelly beans, caramel corn, mint tins, maple syrup, tea, gum, honey, nuts, and cookies.

For every wedding favor bag, include an edible item, practical item and something for aesthetic purposes. Party favors are generally inexpensive; thus organizing 50-100 wedding favor bags will not break the wedding budget. Once the guest list is established, it is recommended to put together more wedding favor bags or boxes as extras. When planning a party, it is better to have too much than not enough, especially when it comes to food, beverages, cake, and wedding favors.
